Club Constitution
Objectives
To promote the advancement of photography, by facilitating interest and participation in all aspects of photography, amongst ourselves and other local camera clubs, in a friendly, informal and sociable atmosphere.
Membership (Amended 16.09.2021)
Membership is open to anyone above the age of 14, under 16s must be accompanied by an appropriate adult. An annual fee is payable in September. Other fees payable will be decided if and when necessary. Membership fees along with the frequency, time and venue of meetings will be decided at the AGM.
Code of Conduct
Members are expected to act in the best interest of the club, to treat each other with respect and not to discriminate against others on the grounds of their gender, religion, race or sexual orientation. You are also required to follow the Nature Photographers Code of Practice.
Discipline
Complaints against other members should be made in writing or e-mail to the Chairperson, if complaints cannot be resolved by amicable informal discussion, the Chairperson will oversee an investigation by 3 committee members, usually within one week. Both parties have the right to put their case to the committee at a mutually agreed time, and to be represented by a club member. There is the right to appeal, in which case the Chairperson will oversee a meeting of 3 different committee members. The appeal decision is final. The committee have the right to suspend or expel any member guilty of contravening this code.
General Data Protection Regulation
Beccles Camera Club adheres to the GDPR, on joining the club, members will be asked to give their permission for the club to hold contact details, solely for club business.
Meetings
The date of the AGM will be decide at the programme planning meeting, which should be held as soon as possible after the previous AGM. Other committee meetings will be held as and when necessary, a minimum of 4 committee members are required for any subject that requires a vote. The chairperson has the casting vote.
Advertising
Commercial advertising and endorsement on the club website and any printed material is not permitted.
Dissolution (Amended 16.09.2021)
A Special General Meeting for dissolution of the club must be called for by the Committee. Notice of the meeting date and time must be sent to all members within 14 days. The list of assets will require updating before the SGM. A minimum of 51% of members need to be in attendance, and a majority vote of those present is required for dissolution and disposal of all assets.
